George Howard Eyler Jr., 47 of Poland, Ind., a former resident of Crawfordsville, died Saturday morning at the Danville, Ill., Veterans Hospital. His death was unexpected. He had been a patient at the hospital since Tuesday. Mr. Eyler was born in Crawfordsville Sept. 19, 1924, the son of George H. and Vivian Cowan Eyler Sr. Survivors include the father of Danville, Ill.; the mother of Crawfordsville; his wife. Maxine of Poland, Ind.; four sons, Allen, Phillip, Larry of Greencastle and Donald at home; three daughters, Teressa Feletic, Sheila Moell, and Brenda at home; three brothers, Kenneth of Crawfordsville, Bob of Bluffton and Jack of Danville, Ill.; four sisters, Peggy Fruits and Sharleen Arola, both of Crawfordsville, and Joanne Murphy of Middletown, Ohio, and Barbara Kleinhaus of Chicago, Ill.; three grandsons, and two grandmothers, Mrs. C. C. Eyler of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Lillian Ehteridge of Muncie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Hopkins and Walton Funeral Home at Greencastle. Friends may call Sunday. - jlr
